Biped Project
Marquette
Maya
Final concept
Development
Our task with this assignment was to go through a CG pipeline from development of a character, then building it in Maya from scratch and finally finishing it in a sculpting program named mudbox. We made it as a clay marquette along the way to get a better sense of trnasferring something from 2D to 3D.

Design 2 w Lawrence Marvit
Day 1: Atlantis Weapon
Day 2: Pirates in Venice
Pirates in Venice thumbnail
Day 4: Fairy City
On this assignment we were given a week to complete 3 fully renedered pieces, where we had to combine everything we had learned so far: eg: perspective, contrast in black and white, rendering etc.
With each assignment we were given a title and from that, had to compose and produce a finished piece except for the first assignment where we only had to design the weapon.

Still Life with Ole Gulbrandsen
This week we were given one day to produce three still lives over a period of three days. We had to choose different materials each time i.e. metal one day, porcelain the next etc. We worked in photoshop, with a lamp and the objects placed on our desk.
Because Magic
My contribution to our classproject which is a comic strip passed from person to person where nothing is planned so anything can happen.
Warhammer 40K fanart:
Absolute Authority
Welcome Home
Admiral Muller of the Emperor's battleship Scarus
Progression Picture
I will be the first to admit I do not care overly for fanart, although I perfectly understand why people love to do it and sometimes something cool can come out of it, especially if the work is original.
I needed a break and I needed to have more fun when I painted in Photoshop, so I decided to regress into my 16-year-old self and do some Warhammer 40k fanart.
I let myself get inspiered from the works of Dan Abnett's excellent Eisenhorn and Ravenor series and recreated some of the scenes from the books, I had pictured in mind while reading them.
The portrait was made for a classmate as a surprise, with a progression shot to satisfy your curiosity.

Project 4550 with Leigh Russel
For a classproject I had to create a 3D super hero charater in a 3D environment with textures and lights. I chose to make a character by the name of Herbert Earth. He is one of the four elements who has been sent to Earth to save humanity from itself. Unfortunately, he has lost his memory and is now trying to fit into human society. His superpower is that he can manipulate earth.
I did all the 3d work in Maya.
Dr. De Soto with Julia Bracegirdle
Concept Design For Dr De Soto, The Wife & The Fox.
Here I redesigned the William Steig's characters from the story Dr. De Soto. It took me about a day to design it from start to finish. It is Dr De Soto, his wife and the fox.
Later I made a very very rough sculpture of The Wife in a material called chavant, It too me about twelve hours to make the sculptur from start to finish

Drawing With Lawrence Marvit
Perspective 1
Construction Robot
Super Villain Summer Holiday
This was a basic but thorough lecture in perspective. The first piece Perspective 1 was an exercise in perspective drawing, where the theme was a castle with additional terrain surrounding it.
Construction Robot was an exercise in drawin object in perspective. I learned that cylinders are hard to draw properly, but worthwhile to learn. The robot had to be constructed out of ordinary things you would find around the house.
With Super Villain Summer Camp I had to combine all the things I had learned during my drawing and design classes with Lawrence M. That meant making a perspective drawing and use a limited palette of tones to draw attention to where you want the viewer to look. I will update this picture later after I have rendered it and added a wider range of tones as well as painting over the drawn lines.
Design Class With Lawrence Marvit
Jazz
Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.
These two ilustrations were made as part of a larger week long lecture on design using simple graphic methods as well as a limited gradient range of three tones.
With the Jazz piece I was requiered to listen to a piece by Miles Davies and find associations through the music to something that moved me. I recalled a time from my childhood, where me and my brothers would go to the top floor of my grandparents apartment building and drop matches all the way down between the railings, while we watched them sail through the air.
The Jekyll & Hyde piece was to depict Mr Hyde waking up after having been transformed from human into the monster. I had to imagine what emotional state of mind he would be in and then do my best to make it clear for an audience when they look at the picture.
